Amish at Work
 The Amish work ethic is well known and respected throughout Amish communities. They have an almost zero unemplaoyment rate and can be found in various home and cottage industries as well as working for various manufacturing and agracultural businesses. Perhaps best known for their farming and furniture making the Amish also excell in catering, restaurant work, quilt making, along with honey, sorgum and molasses making.
The number one goal for Amish families is to be able to work at home. Amish farm land has become such valuable realestate it is often difficult for young Amish families to purchase enough acarage to sustain the farming lifestyle.
Most Amish children enter the work force shortly after graduating from the 8th grade. Learning to work around the farm begins well before that.
